Personal, Social and Health Education
At Innsworth we encourage the children to be independent and resilient learners and to have a good understanding of the world we live in. PSHE enables our children to become healthy, kind and responsible members of society and aims to help them understand how they are developing personally and socially. It also tackles many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up.
We incorporate the Jigsaw curriculum, which nurtures children to be confident and successful, into our PSHE offer. This allows children to develop their capacity to learn and prepares them for the challenges of the modern world. Children are provided with opportunities to develop their emotional intelligence, life skills, and gain an understanding of, and opportunities to nurture, their mental wellbeing. We provide our children with opportunities for them to learn about rights and responsibilities and appreciate what it means to be a member of a diverse society. Our children are encouraged to become critical thinkers and develop their sense of self-worth by playing a positive role in contributing to school life and the wider community.
