Right: Whole school singing 'He's got the whole world in his hands' Class 6 Assembly Welcome to our class assembly. This term in RE we have been learning about how the world was created. In the religion Christianity, Christians believe that the world was created in 7 days by God. Although there are many theories as to how the world was created, we are going to tell you the Christian Creation story. IN THE BEGINNING THERE WAS CHAOS (clap out of time) AND GOD BROUGHT ORDER (clap in rhythm) HE CREATED THE HEAVENS (look up) AND THE EARTH (look down) AND IT WAS GOOD. (Smile and shake hands) THE EARTH PRODUCED ALL KINDS OF PLANTS AND VEGETATION (Half become trees) BEARING GRAIN AND FRUIT (other half pretend to pick fruit and eat it) AND GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD (smile and shake hands) HE CREATED THE SUN (stand in a circle and hold hands) THE MOON (howl like wolves) AND THE STARS (make a shape like a star) TO LIGHT UP THE NIGHT (fall asleep) AND THE DAY (wake up brightly and cheerfully) AND HE WAS PLEASED WITH WHAT HE HAD MADE (shake hands and slap backs) THEN HE FORMED MANY CREATURES TO FILL THE EARTH. ALL KINDS OF ANIMALS (make animal noises) FISH (open and close mouths like goldfish) AND BIRDS (fly around flapping wings) HE BLESSED THEM AND COMMANDED THEM TO MULTIPLY (count on fingers) FOR WHAT HE CREATED WAS GOOD (pat backs and shake hands) THEN GOD CREATED MAN (boys step forward) AND WOMAN (girls step forward) HE GAVE THEM CONTROL OF THE EARTH (hold out hands showing the area) OVER THE TREES (pose as trees) OVER THE ANIMALS (animal noises) AND FISH (fish mouths) AND BIRDS (flap) GOD LOOKED AT EVERYTHING THAT HE HAD MADE AND HE WAS PLEASED (slap backs, shake hands, jump and laugh) FOR THE WORLD WAS GOOD. AND HE RESTED FOR HIS CREATION WAS COMPLETE. We have learnt that everyone is entitled to have their own beliefs, and you should not dislike someone because they have a different belief to you. The world is a beautiful place and was created for us to enjoy. Our topic this term is called Wall-e and it is set in the future showing what humans have done to our earth. Air pollution Land Pollution Water Pollution Noise pollution Think about what you are doing to our earth and try and change it for the better in the future. Our world was created to be beautiful, not a mess!
